Our trip to San Francisco this weekend was fun and crazy and full of surprises. I was so glad to spend time with [livejournal.com profile] unseelie and [livejournal.com profile] 1muse. We also got to see D who was visiting from Germany and J who we saw for the first time since Pennsic and who'll be here for Thanksgiving. Oh, and more Pennsic people who came down from Davis to see us too!!

There was very little sleep to be had by all. Lots of eating, all over the city. This was just Saturday: We went to the Muir Woods. We went to a drag bar where within 3 minutes of walking inside, [livejournal.com profile] 1muse won a tiara and a free drink for getting up on stage with a wig and a boa and lip-synching to "I Will Survive" in a contest. We went to a bar with a beer garden and then to a superhero-themed costume fetishy party and then out to a diner for whatever meal you eat at 5 am after a club. On Sunday, we went to brunch and then to a cafe and then to show D the Pacific Ocean 'coz he hadn't seen it before. See what I mean? Non stop, No sleep til Venice kind of fun.

I dragged myself out of bed after about 6 hours of sleep and went to one class before I was delirious and came home to nap. In my life, I have to compact a lot of fun into a little time. I definitely succeeded this weekend. Next weekend promises to be as jam-packed with people visiting for Thanksgiving. I had better catch up on sleep now.

Lost you e-mail but need your help

A friend of mine is going through a bad time.
She was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia, had surgery, and has now been diagnoised with cervical cancer. It's in sistu, which is better then it could be. However they are telling her she might need to have a hyterectamy. I know that this is fairly radical surgery and I am advising her to get a second opinion because it may not be totally necessary. Can you tell me what herbs or therapies you'd recommend. I told her about castor oil packs. I figure you might have even better advice. Thanks in advance.

Is your friend in Boston? If so, I'd tell her to go to the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) clinic in Watertown and see what they'd say. Or, if she's not in Boston, call NESA anyway and get a referral for an acupuncturist and herbalist in her area. If it's early enough, Chinese herbs and acupuncture may be able to help.

You can always write to me at dcicuto@livejournal.com and it will get forwarded to my regular address.
