February 14th is my friend extraspecialk's bday. It has nothing to do with hearts and flowers for me, except if they're for K's bday, ok? (Also? It's my ex-girlfriend S's bday too. I think of her on 2/14 even if I don't talk to her much these days.)

I am a sucker for movies like Moulin Rouge and Amelie, so don't take away my romantic card yet. "Each day is Valentine's Day" - so the song goes. I like to be romantic every day with those I love, not just on one day that Hallmark says is THE day for romance.

The only person I am ok with sending me a Valentine is my mom. I think it's very sweet. My mom makes her own cards with poems she writes, so it's even more special.

That being said, I was still tickled to find this article in the SF Bay Guardian when I was at a cafe tonight and that joedecker is in it:
