It's almost that time of year again. Time for our annual viewing of "Love, Actually":
In 9 days, on the one year anniversary of the first day we met,
joedecker and I are going to go into the woods and celebrate our committment to each other with a handfasting. This will be a private ritual between us, the trees and the gods. We are writing about it here because word has started spreading fast and we want to make sure people hear it from the source. (Also, we're finding it very hard to contain the squeeing.)
We are doing this for lots of reasons, one big one is to recognize the amazing relationship we have and how important we have quickly become to each other. All of our partners know about this and have given their consent and support. (For clarification, we are not leaving any of our partners and we are not becoming primary partners to each other.)
We're kind of writing our own polyamorous rules about all of this as we go along. In a way, isn't that part of what polyamory is all about? Please ask us if you have any questions.
Joe's post about it is here:

February 14th is my friend
extraspecialk's bday. It has nothing to do with hearts and flowers for me, except if they're for K's bday, ok? (Also? It's my ex-girlfriend S's bday too. I think of her on 2/14 even if I don't talk to her much these days.)
I agree with a lot of what
ame_chan has to say about Valentine's Day:

I am a sucker for movies like Moulin Rouge and Amelie, so don't take away my romantic card yet. "Each day is Valentine's Day" - so the song goes. I like to be romantic every day with those I love, not just on one day that Hallmark says is THE day for romance.
The only person I am ok with sending me a Valentine is my mom. I think it's very sweet. My mom makes her own cards with poems she writes, so it's even more special.
That being said, I was still tickled to find this article in the SF Bay Guardian when I was at a cafe tonight and that
joedecker is in it:
