Talking to reive at marrus' inspired me to think about writing in here more. Maybe not every day but there are important things to remember.

I got to sit down and talk to my mom on Xmas eve. I suggested that we agree to disagree about our differences (namely my open marriage and my husband and probably my bisexuality too). She thought that was a good idea. Neither of us cried, although we got teary-eyed.

My mom actually looks like she's grown up. She's 56 and I think she's beginning to act her age. At the very least, she's dressing more her age. She stopped perming her hair because it's getting really thin but she's going to continue to dye it.

I showed her photos of LA and my school brochure. I wanted her to know that it's real. I'm moving in 7 months, so we've only got the present to start to repair the damage. To make some kind of truce. I think it was a good beginning.

Mom was actually nice to S* - which was kind of a shock. And she made us pizzelles and cheesecake. So, yeah, I guess it's a start.

More later. We're heading up to Montreal tonight through New Year's. I think I'll get those Winter snow photos I've been waiting to take :)
