Apparently I now make chocolate sex cake. [livejournal.com profile] butterflies79 said it's so. The original chocolate sex cake was found at a diner in Montreal. [livejournal.com profile] pax_industria and [livejournal.com profile] stevefava and I have had it before. But sadly, that diner doesn't make it anymore.

But, yesterday, I reinvented it for [livejournal.com profile] stevefava's bday party. It was a chocolate layer cake with raspberry filling and covered with chocolate and raspberries. There wasn't very much flour in the cake at all. Mostly chocolate and eggs. Everyone was very happy and sweet-toothed out.

It was a lovely bday dinner and it went very late. Most of the people from our building went for a walk on the beach around midnight. We played in the sand with the phosphorescent algae, which glowed green every time we touched it. It was very amusing to see our neighbor's little dog running around. It looked like he had green lightning at his paws!

And I spent the day helping out a friend of a friend whose car died near our house. Deader than dead. Like it needs a new engine dead. I was supposed to have gone to an SCA event that was run by our mutual friend, but as luck would have it, he called a few minutes before I was planning to leave. I was happy to help.

Although my day was nothing like I expected it to be, it was very good.

I have no idea what it is. Kirsten told me about it. You can't actually see the algae but it makes the sand glow.

Bummer about Alan's car - well sorta since you didn't like it.
