Tonight I really thought I had wasted 3 hours of my life. I went to see a Chinese energy healer, hoping it wasn't "Faith Healing". In the end, I don't think it was really faith healing. It was only faith healing in that I spent 3 hours hoping that the announcer would "Pick me! Pick me!". It was kinda like waiting to be picked for sides on baseball teams. Humiliating. Aggravating.
It wasn't like the guy instantly healed people. It took a few tries before they were pain-free, so that made it look more believable, I suppose.
I'm convinced I gave myself an endo attack just so the healer could prove to me that his system works. Well, my name never got called, so I left after waiting for 3 hours and when I saw the woman in the wheelchair, who also didn't get called, get rolled out of the church.
I guess I learned not to put all of my eggs in one basket. "Ooh, there's this Chinese Energy Healer, maybe he can cure me." His announcer kept pushing the $500 weekend seminar to encourage people to learn this method so they can heal themselves and others. She also kept calling up Reiki masters, massage therapists and even a doctor. My guess is she was focusing on the people who could afford and might take the seminar.
I have learned a lot from Chi gong and am starting to learn a lot about Traditional Chinese Medicine. Along the way, I've had one quack acupuncturist who worked on me and I'm sure I'll have a few teachers in acupuncture school who I might not agree with either. But when I put my education together as a whole, I'm sure I'll have a much more rounded education than I would if I just tried to study with one guru who claims to be able to heal instantaneously.
