How is it that I never saw the Dresden Dolls when I lived in Boston? I am quite sure I'd heard [livejournal.com profile] pir mention them ages ago. I moved to California and met two people who had been in their videos ([livejournal.com profile] whittles and R who's not on LJ) and saw [livejournal.com profile] missmhart's photographs of the band when I went back to Boston visit a few years back.

Better late than never. Anyway, I love Amanda F'ing Palmer. I'm so glad I got to see her perform here a few months ago. My general impression is that people either love her music or don't see what the big fuss is. It's Amanda's birthday and she wants us to tell people about her music. This is one of my favorite songs on her new album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer?.

I used to see them fairly often in Boston and when Amanda Palmer did solo things but they got really popular: good for them, overcrowded gigs in larger venues not so fun for me.

I remember when Trent Reznor did little intimate gigs, right after I graduated high school. She reminds me so much of him.

I love her punk-cabaret style.
