I'm wondering if I should give myself 6 more days to finish this given the extenuating circumstances. I mean, I may be able to use a few of the photos I took while I was at home but that's it. I edited my book a little on the plane last Thursday bit after that, I was caught up in family stuff. There's nothing in the rules that says I can or can't pause my Sofobomo month due to a death in the family.

Thoughts?

My understanding of these ACRONYMic efforts is that the point is to keep yourself motivated and honest, not to force you to conform to some external set of rules and regs. You've been consistently making your self-imposed deadlines, so the point is achieved. Do as thou wilt, and the benefit remains.

Also, because I haven't posted them yet, my condolences, hugs and love to you and all your family.

Thank you. I'm going to take your advice & extend it. After all, I had to put off other real world things too for 6 days.

That's it? Won't that make it easy to cheat?

Yes, it will. This is like playing solitaire - the satisfaction is almost entirely in winning, and if you cheat, you only cheat yourself.

This. You're not cheating. You're not adding extra days of work - you're compensating for days you couldn't due to extenuating circumstances. And besides, are you doing this for the folks running that site, or for you? (she says, with all the affection possible)

Give yourself 6 more days. Your extenuating circumstances are about as extenuating as circumstances get. You've been working hard on this project. It's not like you're trying to make up for slacking earlier.

Agreed. No one's ever as hard on me as I am on myself, that's why I asked for advice :). And this way I get to include my postponed handfasting trip with Joe in the book and have time to reschedule photoshoots with people.

I am relieved.

I backdated my book so it would include photos from before I learned about the project. Break the rules. ;)

of course you can pause it -- this is YOUR project.

It's *your* book. Do it however you want. As far as I can see, how can there be cheating?

(I'm not going to get to do this, it just isn't in the cards. Too much going on and I can't get the people and the concept together and my brain is completely frozen as far as coming up with something else. But I will survive; there's always next year! Also, I sent a hug back to you via Joe :).)
