The pictures are fantastic! Most of the time I grimace at the thought of being there for Mardi Gras, but these pictures make it seem fun and sexy vs bunch of drunk college kids. Are there certain areas/times to go?
You know, I used to think the same thing. Avoid Bourbon Street on Mardi Gras - that's tip #1. The closer we got to Canal, the more tourists there were who weren't wearing costumes. That's probably why my hubby got his picture taken for the AP - because he really stuck out amongst the crowd on Canal. The Marigny is where all the cool kids are.
