I don't think I will ever understand Tori Amos' lyrics, but I just really like this song:

The sexiest thing is trust
I wake up to find
The pirates have come
Typing up along your coast
How was I to know
The pirates have come
Between Rebecca's
Beneath your firmaments
I have worshipped
In the Jamaica Inn
In the Jamaica Inn

Thank you! I didn't realize I'd get an actual answer about where that's from. Maybe I'll get one of Du Maurier's books for my trip next week.

REBECCA is amazing, and, from what I remember (given, this was when I was 12ish) I loved JAMAICA INN as well....Daphne DuMaurier was an amazing lady..."The Birds" (Hitchcock) was part of her ouevre as was the story for Nicholas Ray's "Don't Look Now" if you are familiar with these..................Although "The Birds" was inspired by a real-life event in the Santa Cruz area.....If you are interested, I can share my geeeeeeeeee3333ky film trivia with ya...
BUT she was an amazing author and REBECCA is a fascinating book, and one of my all-time faves........but I do love the victorian-ish stuff....
