I just had real New York pizza in Santa Monica.
No, I'm not kidding. Or hallucinating. I didn't know whether to kiss the guys who owned the place or cry: Bravo Pizza on Main Street.
I've been living here for 2 1/2 years and have never gone there before. Mostly because I don't believe signs when they say "New York style pizza". But this happened to be right across the street from the play we saw. And the cannolis? They fly them in from Ferrara's in New York and they fill they shells in front of you. They're not perfect, but they're pretty damned good. I'll definitely be back for more.
p.s. The play/musical/cabaret is called The Night of the Black Cat. If you can get past the bad French accents, it's not bad at all. It's actually quite good. They encourage audience participation. Which means they picked on S coz we were seated in the front row. www.edgemar.org for more info. It's been extended thru June 12th.

If I wasn't so damned sick, I'd be on my way there right this minute.
