I got a toaster in the mail today! (No, I didn't convert anyone for it). Since we have very little space for appliances, I researched camp toasters and found this one. I paid too much for it on ebay, as it turns out, but now I can have warm toast and not burned bread whenever I want!! Mmmmmm . . . maple pumpkin butter on toast! Maybe it's not a big deal to you but it is to me.

My cat doesn't seem to understand this rain stuff. He asked to go outside twice and came running back in each time. Sometimes he's not as smart as we think he is. But now he is curled up on my lap enjoying the warmth.

I will enjoy some tea and warmth and maybe toasted pannetone before going out to do laundry this evening.

Hooray! I mean, sorry you had to drop your Crane Style class. Let me know if you want to get together tomorrow for vice or if you have a quiz to study for before class.

Poor Xander

My first cat Boba Fett used to escape, only when it rained, to go sit on our neighbor's porch and cry like he was homeless.
I guess that was less about not understanding the rain and more about utilizing the dramatic effect. Kitties are such drama queens.

your cute new toaster looks like it wants to be taken camping. i love low-tech gadgets! how long does it take to make a piece of toast?

It takes about 5 minutes. It would probably be less once I get the heat adjusted correctly. But you have to make sure you flip the toast to get both sides warm if you want it that way.

p.s. My upstairs neighbors are moving to your neck of the woods today. I should come visit you sometime . . .
