This is a list of yummy things we ate on our trip to New Orleans. I can not bring New Orleans to you, but I can share this recipe:
Praline Bacon. It's pretty simple to make. You should all try it. I don't even like pralines, but this is good .
M & J's friend had a crawfish boil just for us because he thought he could do it better than any restaurant could. Everyone enjoyed the crawfish except for me (I'm allergic to shellfish). They made me salmon with Cajun spices. I politely struggled through one piece. It was good but kinda spicy!
Three words: Peanut butter pie.
On our last day, we scampered all over town to buy food to bring back with us. S bought a few boxes of pralines and I got some homemade mint chocolate fudge. (Oh, and the praline store had "Bertie Bott's every flavor beans" made by Jelly Belly - and, yes, they are every flavor).
Our carry-on bags were full of beignet mix and chicory coffee. Now we have to find a "fry daddy" so we can make beignets and we can have a greasy New Orleans type breakfast soon. mmmmmmmm . . .
