My husband won't be fighting in Crown Tourney on Saturday because he bashed one of his fingers up really bad at fighting practice last night. He might have even broken it, but he didn't want to get it x-rayed coz they'd put it in a splint and charge him a lot of money either way.
Luckily, I called my acupuncturist boss this morning and she was able to see him. He actually let her put one needle in his foot! I was very proud of him (he is pretty damned scared of needles). He even dealt with it being in for 20 minutes. She put some magnets on for the rest of the treatment and gave him some herbs to take. He is one tough patient.
Then I took my very loopy husband to get a splint for the finger and some lunch. All comfort food all day for my sweetie.
I am being influenced by our new very femme-y temporary roommate. I just painted my nails! I so rarely do that but I wanted to cover up the henna that's growing out of them coz it looks funny. I was pleased with myself that I understood a bunch of the ingredients on the nail polish label thanks to my Biochemistry class!!
Time to sleep before my 9am class. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I have always used a mixture of comfrey/nettle/chickweed (loose herb tea) for bone injuries, and have had good results.. it helps with swelling, bruising, and provides necessary minerals for building new bone & connective tissue (Some folks have an issue with using comfrey, because its isolated main compounds in mega-amounts cause liver problems in lab rats.. but a person would have to consume huge amounts of it at once to have those issues. Taking it as a tea is also a very safe dose..)
On another note: yay for girly-time! I want to henna my hair (which is light brown w/ red & blonde highlights naturally).. do you have a good recommendation on where to get good henna? I'm thinking red/burgundy for color choice..

Yup, go to www.hennadancer.com She has great henna and is an aquaintance of mine in the SCA. She's in CT and imports her henna from Yemen and it's really fresh. Tell her Nisaa sent you.
