Hello world, I'm a redhead! I mean really red-orange. I hennaed it tonight. Still getting used to it all. The strand test I did had no bearing on reality at all. It was a nice soft copper in the strand test and now i'm a carrot top with blonde highlights (where I missed a few spots, oopsy).
When I asked a friend with on-purpose orange what I'm going to do now because none of my clothes match my hair, he said to clash purposefully. And wear red.

Be bold . . .
BTW what kind of henna did you use?
I went red about 6 or 7 years ago. I used "Rainbow Henna" in a shade called strawberry blonde.
If you like the look may I offer you a few tips?
Use 'red zinger' tea when prepairing the henna to deepen and enrich the shade. This works because this type of tea contains hybiscus flowers.
Henna makes your hair extra shiny because of the way it smoothes and plates the cuticles of your individual hair strands. If you want extra conditioning and better spreadability the next time you color, mix one whole egg in with the henna. When mixed the henna should be the consistancy of yogurt or mayo. Wrapping your head in tinfoil or saran wrap and sitting in the sun (or using blow dryer) will also make the resulting color last longer.

Re: Be bold . . .
I mixed the henna with olive oil as I was told as well and I really thought I got it all over. I even went over it twice to make sure. I used a shower cap instead of saran wrap.
I've just written to the woman who taught the class to see if she has any suggestions.
Thanks!
