I was expecting drag queens dressed like Nicole Kidman and confetti and top hats. And really, I should know better than to buy movie theater popcorn.

That all having been said, WOW! Half of our apt building (all 4 of us) went to see "Moulin Rouge" on the big screen and it was LOUD and more fabulous than - spectacular, spectacular no words in the vernacular - and all that. This was only the second time I had seen it. I could see it a hundred times and still find more that I haven't seen before.

You could just tell that the actor who played the Duke had really studied Madonna's "Like a Virgin" video. There was just something in his eyes.

And I kept trying to diagnose Ewan MacGregor because you could see his tongue when he sang and opened his mouth really wide.

If I were to dress up it would have to be in the ivory dress with the pink feather boa thingees hanging from behind during "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" number. Or the green absinthe fairy outfit.

I am very satisfied with my study break. Now sleep. Tomorrow more studying.

I'm so jealous -- I've never seen it on the big screen. How cool.

Well, if you're ever in LA, we simply must go see it. It plays every Friday at midnight in Santa Monica, which is the next town over from me.

Woo -- totally... I'd heard about the whole thing with it -- I keep wishing someone with more time than me would make something similar happen in NYC.
