10 Things to do during my break

To help me get thru til the end of finals on Monday night:

1) Well, of course, there's Pennsic next week.
2) Go to the Kali Temple in Laguna Beach and report back to A in MA about it.
3) Find a Kwan Yin temple or a temple with a statue to her here in LA. I already have a list of a few places to look.
4) See "Tomb Raider" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" finally. Maybe go see the Friday midnight "Moulin Rouge" showing in Santa Monica (dress up and singalong kinda thing).
5) Not study for 2 1/2 weeks.
6) Finish "The Two Towers" (I've given myself this year to finish the trilogy and I'd like to do so before the third movie comes out if possible). No, I haven't read them before.
7) Go to the beach. A lot.
8) Get to Miss Kitty's Parlor at least once, since I won't be studying.
9) Catch up with friends.
10) And the best thing I can think of right now: Get lots of sleep!

OH! That's right! I wanted to do that before Pennsic and there's still some time. I figure that there'll be many people to report to about it at Pennsic.

Hmmmmm . . . maybe that's what I'll do today before work.

Ok, I will! At this point, I think I will wait to see "Pirates" and "Tomb Raider" after I come back from my trip. I'll be back after the 17th.

I wish we were going to Pennsic ths year.. have a rollicking good time! Also.. don't know whether you've heard the news about pax_industria & the boys' car fire misadventure (read about it in valdis' journal).. but since you're headed to Pennsic & they're (I think) friends of yours, I thought you might wanna know and perhaps get in touch with them before you leave.. I'm quite sure that pax has his cell with him..

Well, no reason to panic.. everyone is ok, I think.. the first thought that came to my mind (after the fellows' safety, or course) was that I hope pax's armor survived (especially the new helmet that he JUST got); it would really suck to lose that.

Anyway, I haven't heard anything directly (I sent an IM, but I imagine that pax has enough to deal with without a call from someone too far away to offer tangible help).. I figured that it would be more productive to give a friend who was Pennsic-bound a heads-up. I hope that was the right thing.

Sorry to worry you/stress you out.. I just thought you might be in a better position to offer them some real support, if you were able to do so. Pax is one of the best people I know, and I believe in taking care of my own.. and after meeting many of his friends, I know that many feel the same in that regard.

Good luck on the last of your exams, and enjoy your vacation to the fullest of its capacity & yours!
