* I shouldn't be reading so much tonight but I skimmed over my friends' entries. I somehow hurt my eye yesterday - either I didn't get all the shampoo out of it or I rubbed too hard to get it all out. I am experimenting with compresses of Ju Hua (chrysanthemum) tea to see if it helps. Learned that in Herb class.

* I am fighting the urge to move more stuff downstairs and just rest.

* There is not enough chocolate in this house right now.

* I told my boss on my first day back that I would appreciate it if she would tell me to my face next time if there are layoffs. She said she would and explained where she was coming from last time when she did such a sucky job at laying us all off. I'm glad I stood up for myself and got it off my chest though.

* I can't put my trip to Las Vegas into words really. You have to experience the place itself to understand it. I didn't gamble or see strippers or drink a lot and still I had a great day and a half with my friends. Our hotel room had a view of a 1/2 scale replica of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel right next door. The Paris hotel people did a really good job with recreating a bit of France - made me homesick. As Joni Mitchell sang:

"If I had my way, I'd just walk through those doors and wander
down the Champs Elysees
Going cafe to cabaret
Thinking how I'd feel when I find
that very good friend of mine . . ."

*sigh*

Maybe I'll just do a little packing tonight.

Vegas!

Avon and I are going to Las Vegas in March. Anything we simply must see? I think we'll be there for 2.5 days (then on to the Grand Canyon and beyond...ending in New Mexico).

Re: Vegas!

I think if you just walk around the "Strip" - the main street where the hotels are, you'll get more than an eyeful. If you're into pirate stuff, I DO recommend catching the pirate show in front of Treasure Island. The hotel itself is kinda boring but they obviously blew all their money on the pirate shows. I think they start around 5:30 or so - darkish and they happen every hour and a half. Check the sign on the dock for details.

The Bellagion hotel has a gorgeous water fountain show with music - kinda like firecrackers but with water. And I recommend wandering around inside the shops inside the Paris hotel. But don't buy very much. A 4" Eiffel Tower statue costs $7!!! It shouldn't cost more than $2 on the streets of the real Paris.

Get a coupon book from whatever hotel you're staying at and use it to get free drinks and money off meals.

Most of the stuff I'm mentioning is *free* coz that's mostly what I could afford. You really don't have to spend a lot of money in Vegas if you don't gamble.

have fun!
