This is what I wrote last night in the midst of mercury retrograde hell:

I can not post in my lj, get in touch with my husband who’s in San Fran, or have my phone date with D in Mass. But I must write.

*Sigh*

So, I am not sure what kind of a dilemma this is but it is a dilemma. My last boss asked me to come back to work because one of my coworkers gave notice to her today. Said coworker is leaving in February to go to Brazil to fulfill her dream of being in Brazil surrounded with Latin music and dance. (It is rare that I saw her show passion for anything. She is passionate about this. And she’ll be there in time for Carnival. I am very happy that she is following her bliss.)

Anyway, back to the dilemma. Maybe I was in the right place at the right time? Maybe it was because I saw my former boss in the bookstore earlier today and I smiled at her. Later on, I saw her in the clinic and she asked me into her office and asked me back to work. I swallowed my pride and said yes. I was so pissed off about the way she handled laying us all off. But I need the money and that’s the bottom line. I feel some sort of betrayal to the other students who got laid off but I can’t let that and my pride get in the way. Not when it means money to pay for groceries for the month.

On January 1st, I drew a tarot card and got the Nine of Cups, which is supposed to be a “wishing card” . I wished for financial stability. And I think I might be getting some. I got my loan check this week, rent is paid and I’ve gotten some really good deals on used books for school. I hope it keeps up.

i've been wishing for the same thing lately. being poor just flat-out sucks. it's lost its romance for me, if it ever had any. i'll think good thoughts for you.

well, congrats on getting your job back - even if you had to swallow a big serving of pride. I hope you mentioned you dissatisfaction at the way you were laid off so that she knows to go about it better the next time she has to let people go.

And congrats on the paid account - is lj going under or something?

I'm gonna tell my boss on my first day back that if she has to lay me off again I'd appreciate it if she'd do it to my face.
LJ has just had technical difficulties the past few days and free users haven't been able to post. So my friend bought me an account because she rocks!
