that I don't appreciate forwards that have religious or patriotic content? Invariably it's all "God" this or "The Lord" that. And I just can't handle anything to do with photos of 9/11 anymore. I never could. I'm more proud to have been born in New York than "proud to be an American". I will always be a New Yorker. I have not become a Bostonian and I don't think I'll become - what do they call people from Los Angeles?

Anyway, someone sent out an email with the above stuff in it and it seemed like he was waiting for me to look at it and react and I just couldn't because it would not have come out nice.

Someone else a few weeks ago asked me if I believed in Buddha but still went to church. He's a coworker from China who told me about a nearby Buddhist center. I told him I don't go to church. I think I had to tell him twice.

I can't very well start sending people witchy forwards now can I? They'd think it was strange, right??!!!

AAAARRRGGHHH!

"My spirituality is very private and important to me, and it's just not a topic I feel comfortabel addressing in the workplace. I know you mean well and I admire that intent, but I'd be really grateful if you could just not include me in these types of forwards in the future."

They call them...

...actors.

(rimshot.)

Actually, "Angelinos" is, I think, the general term.

Thanks, reive!

I will probably respond to the next one I get with a paraphrase of what you wrote. You have such a way with words.

I manage. :) Your home city has adopted me pretty thoroughly, and has not lacked for excitement over the past four years.

What leads you to la-la land?

I'm going to la la land for acupuncture school, starting in September. We'll be living in Venice or Santa Monica. My school is in Marina del Rey and I want to be able to bike to it, since we only have one car. I can hardly wait to be there! But the driving across country belated honeymoon ought to be fun too.
