A panel of 23 astrologers headed by yours truly has named you Window Shopper of the Month for August. I know that may sound premature, given the fact that you have not yet done much browsing this month. But the astrological omens are clear. We're confident you'll justify our faith and do what's necessary to earn your title. To get you pointed in the right direction, here are some things you might want to fantasize about acquiring: a silk lantern, a stained glass window, a bird's nest, black pearls, 2,000-year-old honey, photos of smoke rising from ritually consecrated fires, a compass that once belonged to a great explorer, and anything else that simultaneously evokes your love of beauty and your sense of wonder.

Ok, what? Does this mean I can't buy anything at Pennsic? *pout*

Of course it doesn't mean you can't buy anything at Pennsic. It just means that you'll have high standards for your shopping, and that you'll have to spend a lot of time browsing through the market with your daughter :)

I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean THAT. ;-)

no

please love: most of that stuff on that list you CAN get at pennsic!

a silk lantern, (easy)
a stained glass window, (not as easy: but possible)
a bird's nest,(easy)
black pearls,(not likely)
2,000-year-old honey, (its the 12th century there, you are from the 21st.. so you could prolly get 1,900 year old honey...)
photos of smoke rising from ritually consecrated fires, (easy)
a compass that once belonged to a great explorer,(or a historically accurate knock off (easy)

whats the problem?

You might even be able to get the black pearls, though probably not the finest quality ones. Freshwater pearls, most likely.

Point taken. Maybe I'll start a quest for these items while I'm at Pennsic, just for the fun of it.

Hi Dee. Sorry to bug you in your LJ, but I don't know how to get a hold of you. Steve left his jacket in my car when I picked him up from the airport, and I'm not sure what he wants me to do with it. Is there any chance you can ask him when you speak with him and let me know? You can email me at ciani at livejournal dot com. I'd hate to have him need it and not have it. I can probably have a friend take it down to Pennsic with them and he can pick it up at their camp. I just need to know.

thanks!
Carrie

Yes. I'll ask him when I talk to him next - hopefully before I leave on Thursday. Thanks for letting me know.

I really don't know what it meant, but it was great seeing you at Pennsic.
