It was ironic how I sat down to eat a burger and fries today at In n'Out and read the label on the container of Cat food from the health food store. The cat food is much healthier than the burger I was eating. But I think I needed a break from turkey for one dinner. Just one.

Today, all four of us in the office picked names for a Secret Santa. Mine's going to be a little hard because it's for my coworker whose birthday happens two days before we exchange the holiday gifts! So I have to come up with 2 presents for her. Does anyone paddle (as in a canoe, not butts)? This coworker is on a paddling team. I'm thinking a gift certificate to a sporting goods store might be the best really. Any suggestions?

My supervisor was kind of upset that we wanted a limit on gift amount. I said "Hello? Me poor student." So the limit was set at $25, which, I suppose, is better than spending money on presents for three people - I only have to spend it on one person. *Le phew*

Right then, off I go to study for the written part of my final in Western Clinical Medicine tomorrow.

wow - $25 is a very high limit - I think the biggest secret santa spending limit I've ever had is $10. Can you get a small gift and then maybe make cookies or something that is economical?

Ooh! Thank you for telling me about that! I know I'm going to do a semester of interning at "Being Alive" HIV/AIDS clinic in WEHO at some point before I graduate - that's one of the options that they give us at school. 8am on a Monday, but it's for a good cause.
