I wanted just to say that my husband makes really good pumpkin chicken stew.  He does.

But saying that on a day like today makes me feel sad and awkward because there are queer people all across the country who 1) could say something similar about their own partners but their unions aren't legal and/or 2) are too scared to say something like that in public. And that just sucks.

I'm happy to be married to Steve. We might appear to be heterosexual but we're not, we're bisexual. I could have met a woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and things would have been different. But that was not how my life turned out.

I don't have any words that will change the world. I just wish anyone could marry whoever they want and be treated equally by everyone. What the hell is so difficult about that idea?

This morning my emotions were as confIlcted as they were a year ago when I woke up the morning after election day. Yay Washington! Boo Maine! How do we convince people to treat others as equal even if they don't understand each other?
