I was at a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (like Starbucks, for those of you who don't know) this evening and a woman asked me if it would bother me if she sat near me and smoked. I told her it would and she said she'd sit somewhere else. I told her she must not be from L.A. and it sparked a conversation between her, a nearby guy who also was not from L.A., and myself. Way cool. That almost never happens in this town.

Um, I got inspired even though I nodded off in one of my classes today. I might post a quote or two from the Tao Teh Ching later. I was reminded of the Ani Di Franco song that starts "Buildings and Bridges were made to bend in the wind. To withstand the world, that's what it takes". Not as deep or profound as what we learned in class, but similar.

It's my mom's bday and the first day of fall today. I told her that I will just start wishing her a Happy Fall every year since she HATES her bday.

Happy Equinox everyone! I forgot to send out ecards this year because I'm otherwise occupied.

"Smallville" is on very soon. I don't know if I'll get addicted but I want to see the arrival of Lois Lane. Oh, and has anyone watched "Father of the Pride" yet? That show is SO funny.
