I got my hair cut today - nothing drastic but about 6 inches off the bottom and now it frames my face. I am currently sitting with my hair covered in henna & a shower cap. It will all look pretty in about 2 hours, I'm sure. Thanks to my super-beauty-parlor-roomie,
merchimerch, for smushing henna goop all over my head!
I've just checked the locks of love website (www.locksoflove.org)and decided that the next time I cut my hair will have to be when I have a 10" ponytail. They do accept dyed/colored hair, I checked. Now the next time I cut my hair, it will be with a purpose. I'll be donating my hair for kids who need some.
I'll also be able to start growing out the red and go back to blonde. According to my friend's website (www.hennadancer.com):
. . . DO NOT use henna over or under chemical dyes or permanents. Henna is very acidic and chemicals for hair are very basic. Remember the clay volcano you made in third grade where you put baking soda in and added vinegar? You do NOT want this to happen to your hair! It could turn straw-like in texture, sewage color green and/or black, or just fall out in patches.
Um, no thanks. I'll listen to the henna expert! She knows her stuff.
