I am trying a day without wheat to see how it goes and see how I feel in the morning. Don't know if ONE day will make a difference, but we'll see. Of course tomorrow I'm going to eat whatever the hell I want. The challenge is that I'm going to make a vegan entree for Barbarian Thanksgiving and K asked if I could make it without wheat. I think she's really testing me because she knows I'm trying to give it up.
Anyway, S and I just got back from the Santa Monica Farmer's Market. I think he went a 'little' overboard on buying fruit. There's NO room in our fridge now for anything but fruit and left over booze from our party.
He wants to make a fruit pie and I'm encouraging him to make a tart because it'll be way easier and because I like fruit tarts ;). I'm probably gonna make a pilaf with tofu and cranberries and pomegranate seeds and currants. We'll see how it goes.
*sniffle* damned cold *sniffle*
My parents each wrote to me and said they understand why we're not going back East for the holidays. I'm glad they understand. I'm REALLY bummed coz I wanted to see my friends. I'm sure it'll hit home tomorrow when we go to Thanksgiving at someone else's house and not have over the bunch of friends we've had over for the past few years. I'm gonna miss you guys.
S is about to have possible drama with the landlady. Apparently his window boxes on the back porch are leaking and there must be a leak in the roof coz our downstairs neighbor has a drip in her closet and it's ruined some of her clothes. The landlady left a message saying that the plants might have to come down. Not what S wants to hear. Especially after the winds the other night blew his little IKEA greenhouse over and killed his seedlings. He really likes being a plant daddy.
I keep trying to encourage him to think positively so that things will happen the way he wants them to. If I've learned one thing in my boring Taoism class, it's about putting out the energy you want in the world. Yes, I already know the Wicca three fold law - it just keeps getting repeated in Taoism class. I'm trying to put this in practice too.
Off to find out what kind of tree is down the street so I can put it in my Botany project. Wish me luck.
