We went to 3 parties last night.
First was a potluck thrown by one of my classmates. Good food and it was rather fun.
Second was a swingers' toga party. I'd never been to a toga party before. And I'll never go to one again if the same type of people show up. Smoke, carpets and dogs were our reason to leave.
Third was a "come as your favorite animated character" birthday party for a friend of K's. That party more than made up for the second one. Lots of pretty people in wacky costumes. Some showed up as animated characters that they created - like this one woman who had these broken . . . "wings" made out of metal filing cabinet rods that were screwed together in an articulated fashion to look sort of like wings. It was her own anime character that she designed. Brava.
I showed up in my vinyl Marilyn Monroe dress - the pink one from "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend". I coulda said I was Jessica Rabbit but there was already one of them at the party. Sadly, there are no pix of me in the outfit. It's really great. Must have pix taken next time.
Usually I don't survive well going to three parties in a row. Fortunately, I slept most of the day away yesterday, so I built up my 'dealing with people' points. I'm going back to bed now to store up some more.
Must get up and enjoy the beautiful sunny day soon. It's been raining for 3 days straight and it's finally stopped.
