I had quite a shock on 12/29 - I had an asthma attack for the second time in my life - the last one was about a year ago - almost exactly.
S* and I were up in Montreal visiting a friend. I think that all of my allergies piled up on top of each other and gave me the asthma attack. Luckily, our friend lives down the street from the hospital, so S* took me there. He calmed me down a lot.
In the moments when the attack was really bad, when I stepped outside to get some air and went back to my friend's apt. in tears, I thought about the things I still needed to accomplish in my life and that I'm glad I started to patch things up with my mother.
After 3 hours in the hospital, S* and I met up with our friends. They had been calling around the city to see if anyone had an inhaler for me and everyone asked how I was.
I'm fine now, really. I'm also so glad to be alive. So, a very bad thing turned into a good thing - a positive reminder of all the things I am grateful for in my life.
More later.
