When in doubt, wiggle. That's my new motto (?). Um, yeah. I belly danced with my upstairs neighbor at her party tonight and it made me very happy. And after a few drinks, I wasn't even embarrassed about dancing in front of strangers.

When having a low self-esteem moment, because of a few zits on my face, I should look at my modeling portfolio. It is photographic evidence that I was a babe at 30.

I went to LACMA today with S and got to see their small permanent exhibit Islamic art. They had quite a few pieces from my SCA persona's period (16th century Turkey), including the exact tile decoration that I have been planning on recreating. I decided it was too big to attempt (3 feet by 5 feet) and found another smaller one (2 feet by 1 foot)that's made up of 4 tiles which are actually two tiles with mirrored images, so it's the same on both sides.

I also enjoyed the Ansel Adams retrospective, but would have enjoyed it more if there had been fewer people there. It was too crowded. But I suppose it's my own fault for going the day before the exhibit closed. I so love his photographs.

I looked at some of the simpler, smaller compositions and realized that I have some similar photos that people might actually like to see. I admit that I would love to be "discovered" some day for my photos and have someone uncover all of my negatives after I die and print some of the photos that I never did. I probably have a few hundred negatives that I developed but never printed because I'm such a perfectionist.

Best of all, I got to spend the whole day with my wonderful husband, who was not the least bit grumpy despite his lack of sleep. I will make him go to sleep soon and get more than 2 hours this time. Silly husband.

G'night!
