I am almost bouncy right now. I think the fact that I'm on vacation has finally sunk in. That and I'm feeling better. I can even stand taking the stinky herbs for this cold - which probably means I really need them. Following is a list of things to do on my vacation:

1.Ritual on the beach for solstice
2.Go to the beach every day except if it rains
3. Make a velvet throw for the couch - possibly a simple patchwork quilt that I'll actually finish before I go back to school. And make it WASHABLE.
4.Call temp agencies about working during break
5.Finish reading "Twelve Wild Swans" coz Starhawk kicks my ass in a good way and I think I can handle it right now.
6.Maybe read "The Lord of the Rings". Shocked that I've never read it? Get over it. S keeps seeing the previews and saying stuff like, "They got the Ents right!" and I have no idea what he's talking about. I liked the first movie even though I hadn't read the books.
7.Maybe start reading "Harry Potter". Ditto above except that S knows nothing about that and it's mostly my female witchy friends who make comments.
(Reading for pleasure is a big deal because I have NO time to do it during school. And I don't want to sit and watch tv all day).
8. Email my paper on the Turkish bath to my students from Pennsic. Also to my friend in charge of the CAMEL (Cultural Advancement of Middle Eastern Life) in the SCA.
9.Get a new top for the teapot and paint it. S and I painted this really pretty teapot in '98 (says so on the bottom) and the top broke when we lived in Cambridge. That was two apts. ago. Time to replace it.
10.See lots of movies: Chamber of Secrets, Two Towers, Real Women have Curves, Bank Ban (Hungarian film), Die Another Day, The Hours. Take advantage of the fact that I live in LA.

More later.
