siodhchan thought I might have some good information from you:

map to Alameda Dog Park (http://www.google.com/maps?q=Alameda,+CA,+USA&ie=UTF8&z=16&ll=37.769578,-122.271845&spn=0.01055,0.028303&om=1), which is in Washington Park, at Central and 8th, right behind Crown Beach. Dogs aren't allowed on the beach there, sadly, but there's beach-like space at Point Isabel, about half an hour's drive north of Alameda.
