(no subject)

I just found out that Dicky Barrett was fired from Indie 103.1.

The Mighty Morning Show was my favorite way to wake up early on a Monday.
Steve Jones is the only reason to listen to that radio station anymore. How long will they let him speak his mind??

You guys had Dicky Barrett? I'm jealous! Poor guy, first ska goes out of style, now this.

I fondly remember going to Bosstones shows when I lived over there (and they were still more or less local). Must have been a fascinating radio personality.

Yeah, we had Dicky Barrett. It was comforting to hear his Bahstin accent on the radio here in LA. Plus he had interesting guests, wasn't afraid to make mistakes, did a punk rock minute every hour and played good music (when they'd let him).

I don't think Steve Jones or Henry Rollins will last long on that radio station. I haven't heard much of Hank's show but he's . . . outspoken to say the least. Steve Jones (as in, Steve Jones, formerly of the Sex Pistols) has a silly sexual I'm-becoming-a-dirty-old-man sense of humor and plays reggae and 60's songs among other things.

Nina Blackwood also does a New wave show that airs on that station but it's syndicated so I don't have to listen to Indie 103.1 to hear it. I can get it on iTunes.

Sorry for the continued rant.
